This notice explains how Erita Communications handles personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who is responsible for your information?

Information we collect
- Enquiries: your name, email address and message when you use our contact form.
- Reviews: your name, star rating and review text. At present, reviews are saved in localStorage in the browser on the device where they are entered; they are not sent to Erita or published for other visitors.
- Service delivery: information needed to supply and support services, which may include CCTV footage, access control logs, network and device data, and contact or account details. The information depends on the service and the agreement with the client.
Why and on what basis we use information
We use information to respond to enquiries, provide and support services, maintain site and service security, keep required business records, and handle feedback. We process information where you have given consent, where it is needed to take steps you request or perform a contract, where the law requires it, or where we have a legitimate interest that does not override your rights. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it; this does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.
Who may receive information
Contact form information is submitted through our website hosting provider in South Africa and emailed to us. Our hosting providers and service partners may also process information when needed to host our website or deliver and support services. We require appropriate safeguards and limit access to what is needed for the work.
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, to meet legal and contractual requirements, and to resolve disputes. CCTV and access records are retained according to the relevant service arrangements, operational needs and applicable law; retention periods may differ by client and system. Reviews kept in localStorage remain on the visitor's device until the visitor clears them.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access or correct your personal information, request deletion where appropriate, or object to processing. Contact the Information Officer at Info@erita.co.za or 087 654 1291. We may need to verify your identity and may explain if a legal reason prevents us from meeting a request.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator through inforegulator.org.za.
Direct marketing
We send direct marketing only where you have consented or where the law allows marketing to an existing customer about similar products or services. Every marketing message will provide a way to opt out, and you may also ask us to stop at any time by contacting us.
